Quote:How to you move a variable from one form to another/make data on one form accessible from the other without making a text file?[/b] Variables that are available on all forms are called Public Variables. You can either write "Public" infront of the variable on the original form e.g. if the variable is called "speed" you would make it public by having "Public speed". Another way is to create a module. Where the forms are, right click > Add > New > Module. Modules can hold many public variables. So in a new module you would write "Public speed". The advantage of modules is that you can organize all your variables in there. This means that you won't get confused later on when the programs get complicated. |

Form Question
Well right now the second form i'm transferring variables to and from is a form to apply different settings for key controls for a game.
So this definitely works well in the fact that if they push "Save changes" it hides the form and makes the variables accessible (obviously with an edited boolean flag) , and if they push "Cancel" it unloads the form, the flag is marked false and any key changes they made on the form don't count. I'll probably post the 1.0 alpha version once i get the controls and difficulty options done. |
