I got a computer case today (Free mind you), which entails a new computer project. Tomorrow I'll start with sanding and creating a design (List of materials will come from the design I imagine). I may or may not take a trip to home depot tomorrow, but I will how ever have this kick ass case started on and working by the end of this weekend.

Components to go inside how ever will be the hardest parts to obtain, the expense of building a computer will prove to be a tedious monument indeed. (Since I don't get paid enough to spend my money on the expensive parts I will require)

The only problem Im having is creating a design, this isnt a ordinary case, its a Server case, with 7 5.25" bays, 8 3.5" bays and two PSU spots, not to mention a HUGH area that could easily house a pump and several radiators for Liquid Cooling. Im going to take a few hours tomorrow and go over a few plans, i've already got the paint scheme (The only colors I like, Black and Red)... I will also probably throw something in there that takes form of my Alias (Black_V!per).

I took everything apart on the case, and gave it a good dusting, tomorrow i'll clean it with some solvent and look into painting (Its really windy here, and i cant paint with 20+ MPH gusts).

Tomorrow i'll also be looking into a side window at True Value/Home Depot, the case is 24" tall and 22" deep and 10" wide.

I'll have 2 120mm fans in the front, 1 around the hard drive cages, 1 in the 5.25" bays, 1 120mm near the top back (Over PSU), 1 92mm over I/O panel, and a 250mm fan on the side (Inside the Window).

Okay, here' a small update to what's been done since my last post (Which looks like i'll have to fix since Imageshack doesnt support uber anymore).

This doesnt include:
Left side panel which i will add once i finish it.
Inside paints

The Left side will have a 12"x24" window with my version of the Black Viper logo. It will be light up by internal red LED lights, so the logo will appear to be like a NEON light. I will have 2 92mm fans, 2 120mm RED LED fans, and 1 250mm Side fan for the Graphics cards.

However, it gives you a small idea as to what to expect the outside to look like on one side... The side im most proud of (So far that is.)









What I will be doing next:
Ordering the actual components that go inside (More on that later)
Painting the inside (It will be a red chrome finish, aka chrome with a red tint)
Final coat on outside with light wet sanding
Add few more wholes for extra LED lights
Other small edits i think of in the next few days.

XFX Geforce 8800 Ultra (May go ATI HD 2000XTX when its released)
Enermax Galaxy 1kw Modular PSU
AMD64 X2 6000+ (May wait and get a Barcelona when there available)
Two kits of Patriot eXtreme Performance 4GB (2x 2GB) for a total of 8GB
Two HITACHI Deskstar 7K1000 for a total of 2TB of hard drive space
A Corsair 32GB Flash card to install a few games for ultra performance.
And a Lite-On Super DVD Multi Drive (Capable of everything but HD-DVD/Blu-Ray)
I may get a Blu-Ray drive since their only 300 now online, and the Xbox HD-DVD drive is easily installed now on a PC, so i may get one of those.


Right now im looking at $2,500 for this computer... And I may go water cooling, if not i'll be getting a Thermalright IFX-14 Inferno Fire eXtinguisher.
